Happiness is Not a Destination-It Comes From Within

Happiness Is Not a Destination-It Comes From Within latest post update 8-4-23

All of the human race has the burning desire to become happy. Happiness does make life easier to deal with and every human deserves to be happy. However, we must proceed to ask the question below and state at the same time the following:

Is it true that happiness is not a destination and does it come from within, and is it a way of life?

Let us be as honest as possible, to begin with:

If you want to be peaceful and live a life of restful awareness; you must first understand that happiness comes and goes. It is not a destination as life has its ups and downs.

However, one must understand that all individuals have their own concept of what true happiness is, and what makes them feel the happiest. While also knowing there is no life that is without the interference of life things.

No one feels happy when in pain, be it physical, mental, marriage, or a loss of any kind. However, you can still choose to be happier, by focusing on the good within your life. There is always something good in everyone’s life even with all of the chaos of the external surroundings.

Being more grateful for those awful things you have not experienced will help you to bring your happiness level forward.

Each day is a brand new day and a new way to take a break and realize that happiness can grow as you learn to control how you react to life in general. It does not mean you will be without obstacles.

What is Happiness and What it Isn’t

Often People Allow Themselves to be Defeated-they try to accomplish their happiness without priorities

“Often people attempt to live their lives backward. They try to have more things, or more money, in order to do more of what they want, so they will be happier.  The way it actually works is the reverse.  You must first be who you really are, then do what you need to do, in order to have what you want.”  Margaret Young

It is often that some individuals are pursuing happiness in the wrong way. They think if they had this or that, could be like their neighbors, or take a trip to the moon, they would be happy. This is an indication that one must remember that everyone has boundaries they should stay within.

You are not your neighbors, you probably do not need what you think you do. Happiness doesn’t necessarily come all at once for anyone and stays there forever, and it never will.

Your needs are more important than your desire. Firstly, being happy and grateful for what you have is definitely more important than worrying about what you do not have.

When you realize that being grateful will help you to accomplish more, you will succeed and feel happier in the process as you go forward. It will help you to take the steps necessary to accomplish those things you dream of.

You Cannot Always Determine Your Day…

Some people say that you can determine how your day will be, by how you decide it will be.  That is not totally true, but it does affect your outcome many times. However, you can determine how you will react to whatever comes before you. You can work to decide that you are strong enough to handle life things that sometimes scare you to the core.

Life has problems and concerns that everyone has to deal with. If you choose to get up in a good mood and start the day with a good attitude; you can better meet the day.

Your blessing in life will not be the same as your friend, but if one thinks long enough, you can always find something that is a blessing. This is when you can let other people who are suffering draw from your soul’s strength, and words of kindness and decide:

Just For Today I Will….lift another hurting soul to a higher level.

We Become Less Fearful of Those Unknown Life-things

Becoming fearful will mean that you are walking backward instead of forward. There is not a soul who can live a good life or a happy existence while being afraid of tomorrow and life in general.

No one will live their life in peace and happiness if they dwell on what could happen. Tomorrow cannot control today. It is important to believe that tomorrow will take care of itself.

If you want your children to succeed you want to let them know that happiness comes from within. If you are not aware of your own happiness then you will not be the example needed to help them see that often you dictate your own unhappiness.

Life Things That Make Us Happy

“Those who can laugh without cause have either found the true meaning of happiness or have gone stark raving mad.”   –Norm Papernick

“The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance; the wise grows it under his feet.”  –James Oppenheim

“Happiness often sneaks in through a door you didn’t know you left open.”  –John Barrymore

Happiness Can Come From Unusual Sources and Unusual Choices

Imagine the little pig wallowing in the mudpuddle. That is his life. He lives from the food he finds or is fed, he is dirty and unkempt. The mudpuddle is what makes him feel good. It is his life.

It is not wise and you do not have to wallow in the mud, and should not. When a person does wallow, it is usually self-pity. Humans are humans and often have self-pity which serves no good.

Happiness is…

“Happiness is the greatest paradox in nature.  It can grow in any soil, live under any conditions. It defies environment. It comes from within; it is the revelation of the depths of the inner life as light and heat proclaim the sun from which they radiate.  Happiness consists not of having, but of being; not of possessing, but of enjoying. It is the warm glow of a heart at peace with itself.  Man is the creator of his own happiness; it is the aroma of a life lived in harmony with high ideals. “

“For what a man has, he may be dependent on others; what he is, rests with him alone. What he obtains in life is but acquisition; what he attains is growth.  Happiness is the soul’s joy in the possession of the intangible. Man might possess everything tangible in the world and yet not be happy, for happiness is the satisfying of the soul, not of the mind or the body.” —

From The Treasury of Joy and Enthusiasm by Norman Vincent Peal as proclaimed by William George Jordan…

The book mentioned above has been in my possession for years and every time I read it, I get something new, something to lift my spirits and see how “I” can improve my own life to have more happiness.

Happiness is not just something that happens automatically. It is something that you must work at.  When you decide to be happy regardless of your circumstances, you will then know that it cannot be bought with wealth or fame.

If it were, then all the rich people would not be trying to stay out of jail….seeking something, anything, to make them happier or taking their own life.

You can be happy. Life can be rich in all the life things that matter.

“You must know what matters most in life.”

Why Happiness is a State of Mind

EndNote

It is up to you to sit down and take some time to gather your negative thoughts (if you have them), into peaceful aspirations. You and only you can do this. You have something within you that can give you more happiness. Dwell on that, and get your happiness.

A note to remind you that when you, yes “you” need something from within to steer you forward…it will come when you need it most.

When I opened my website today-I started seeking a post to update. I came to this one as I, myself had been somewhat low in my happiness level, it was a draft and was originally written today, nine years ago. Tell me now that this is a co-incident. **Today with this update it is thirteen years ago, and yes it needed some re-write and corrections…

Too much sadness exists and life is short so we take this time, on this day, at this moment to drift off into a total state of happiness and learn that we must look within, and choose to be happier..we deserve it, today and always.
