Daily Devotional-Waiting Upon The Lord

Wait Upon the Lord Scripture Psalms 27:14

Daily Devotional-Waiting Upon The Lord

As humans, we often get into a hurry when we have something important that we feel needs immediate attention from the Lord. It seems obvious to us that the Lord’s words say that He is listening and will give us what we need.

His Words are true, He is listening, and He is there. However, we must remember also that He was there when we were too tired to take the time to thank Him for the day’s blessing that we received. As we know sometimes “patience” is not always our strength.

In Psalms, David also had times when he had to remind himself that patience is a virtue. One of those times is in Psalms 37: 4-7

4Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. 6And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. 7Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way…

We must remind ourselves to be delighted in the Lord, commit our ways unto Him, trust Him, and He shall bring it to pass. Rest in the Lord, instead of being anxious. Wait patiently for Him as we must realize that He knows all things whether they be good or bad.

He Shall Strengthen Thine Heart

14Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. Psalms 27:14

Waiting and praying is the key to keeping your faith strong and not waiver in your belief in the Lord.

Confession: Me

Just recently I had let myself question why God, The Father, and Jesus, His Son, was not answering my own prayers. Yes, it is something that I felt I need. Do I have faith that Jesus hears my prayers? Yes! Also, I have faith that He can do anything He desires to do if it is His will. Yes! I also believe that He can do anything but fail.

Additionally, I know He has all Power, He even knows our needs before we ask. His doors are always open, and He is not slack concerning His promises. Do I believe the Bible scriptures above “wait upon the Lord?” Yes!

I also know that He has His own timing. However, humans at times will be human and start to doubt, have fear, and become impatient. I became weak, and my faith grew dim, and I could not see the answers coming. I slipped, I fell, I was hurting, disappointed, and wondering what I was doing wrong. Fear that He had forgotten my request…

GUESS What my Scripture Was The Next Morning…

None other than James 1

1James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting. 2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord. 8 A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. James 1: 1-8 (KJV)

WowWhat a slap to my face (that I needed), and a wake-up call!!! I know better and yes I have read the scripture before. I deserved this Scripture as a reminder. I received it with the knowledge of the wisdom that sent it to me.

I felt revived/renewed/stronger in my faith and knew He loved me. But He needed and wanted to remind me to keep the faith and wait for Him and He would renew my strength. I immediately knew it was from the Lord. He speaks to us in miraculous ways.

The Word of God…is strong, explicit and reminds us, and teaches us…

TO FOLLOW HIS RULES, HIS GUIDE, HIS WORDS, AND BELIEVE EVEN WHEN YOU CAN’T SEE IT. After all, that is what Faith is, and that is what the scripture above means when it says to “Wait on The Lord.”

Wait on the Lord and He shall renew your strength. Don’t waiver…wait!

Be Blessed!!!
