“He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.” Psalms 91:4 KJV

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the highest shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 6Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. 7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand, but it shall not come nigh thee. Psalms 91: 1-7

Encouragement For When You Are Hurting

Whatever you are facing today, remember that the Lord knows all about it. He is watching over you and He knows your pain. However, don’t forget that His promises are true when you put your trust in Him. Regardless of how you do not understand, remember that His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. Isaiah 55: 8,9

There are many things in life that we cannot control and it is of human nature to wonder if we are going to make it through those things. However, that is when we must realize that His promises are true.

The scriptures above give us reassurance that He is watching over us, He will cover us, and He is our buckler and shield.

Some things take time, and some hurt, pains, and misfortunes do not go away as we would like. This is when we must have patient prayer, giving thanks to Him first for what He has already blessed us for.

No, it isn’t always easy, but when it is time, the Lord will deliver, ease our hurt, and help us to carry on. His promises are true.

When Life is Unfair

We know beyond a doubt that “life is sometimes unfair.” It just is. This statement came from a Psychologist who was speaking at a Ladies’ Retreat years ago.

That statement is part of life that we must accept, regardless of our Spiritual status, or our walk with Jesus. Bad things happen to good people. They do nothing to deserve it, they are loving people, they are honest, and they do not try to hurt another soul.

When these things occur, that is when we must reach for more understanding and the Lord’s mercy. He will deliver and we must remember that the Lord is watching over us to help us survive when we feel we can’t.

His Promises Will Never Fail-Wait Upon The Lord

Waiting is another task that is not easy. When the heart is hurting, it is hard to keep our minds focused on the Lord. It is human to want relief before we obtain it, we may even want to lash out at those around us. However, this is when we must not let the enemy destroy our faith in Jesus Christ.

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

Grief, and The Broken Heart

We grieve for many reasons in this world of misfortune. We lose someone we love, be it our child, a parent, a friend, or any loved one. Our heart feels broken, our mind feels unstable and our life is disrupted. What can we do? How do we survive an unfair, unjustified, and either deliberate action or unfortunate illness or accident?

Let me explain here…I know about this because I have been there. I lost my only child to a disease that cripples many. Why? We want to understand the why. That is not always possible but as stated above that is when we must remember that God knows more than we do.

This is What You Must Remember…from The Word of God

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. Psalms 147: 3

My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word. Psalms 119: 28

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Revelations 21: 4

The Lord Will Turn Your Pain Into Something That You Can Understand- if you Allow Him

It is human to want to understand why, and in time…you can grasp some comfort and realization of that.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

Peace Be Still…

In the Bible, Mark 4:39 says, “And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm”.
