What Is A Spiritual Journey
What is A Spiritual Journey- the process of seeking the spiritual self, and trying to learn, live, and walk in the faith that there is a Lord who will guide you through the process…
A Spiritual Journey seems to be a phrase that is different for many people than it is for others. Some believe that they are searching and trying to find within themselves a feeling of peace for living, being, and existence. Nothing more, just to feel complete satisfaction.
For those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, a spiritual journey means walking in all the light and path of what the Holy Scriptures have given us with directions for salvation (being saved) through believing in the Lord Jesus Christ.
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.”John 3:8
If a person does not commit to living a spiritual life by confessing their sins and letting go of their carnal nature, they will not continue in a peaceful state.
“We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.” Romans 3: 23-26

Walking Our Spiritual Journey
God has given us a plan to follow, and there are no detours. It will, however, bring us JOY BEYOND COMPARE for our soul, morning, noon, and night.
Does this take away all of our burdens, sorrows, and those things which seem unfair? No, but it does give an individual the strength, courage, and power to overcome and feel peace after the storm.
Yes, we know that some Religious Philosophers may tell you that a Spiritual Journey does not necessarily include religion or the Word Of God. Some people scoff at the notion, however, I had rather be laughed at than think about not having the peace of mind that comes with believing in eternal life through Jesus Christ.
No One Says That Living Our Life According To God’s Plan Is Always Easy
Bad things happen to good people. Life many times is complicated, but never beyond the impossible with Jesus directing our life. We are all very different individuals and our needs, and talents even as Christians are very different just as in our natural life. Fear of not being good enough or as good as another often sets in. Those voices that dictate the negative are not from the Lord. When the Lord is in charge of our lives, there is no need to fear.
Our Spiritual Journey Determines Our Destination
Today could be the last day of your life. It could be the last time you have a chance of making sure you are walking the “Spiritual Journey,” Christ would have you walk. He does not expect us to walk according to anyone else’s specifications, but to seek His will for our life.
He gives us leadership, which we know as pastors, or ministers, who are on mindful watch for our souls as well. His will for our life is well explained all in one place. Not many places and it is within the Word of God. He admonishes us to watch over our souls and tells us exactly how He expects us to maintain our walk on our spiritual journey.
The above does not say that we all perform the same duties in our service to Him. However, we must have actions and reactions that follow His instructions, and we do so with humble and prayerful thanksgiving.
The Word – The Bible
The Bible gives us admonition for those things which are not becoming to someone who is on their journey to everlasting peace. He also gives us examples of what we need to be like, and how to be an influence to help another soul find Christ. After all, that is part of the journey.
We are to help other souls know that Christ died for all humanity. The Bible also gives us the kind of spirit we must have to be in tune with what Jesus has outlined for us as Christians. A spirit like His…
Apostle Paul’s Writings
This scripture stands out, in the Apostle Paul’s writings when He was in prison. It gives some of the best advice on what it takes to travel the spiritual journey that will lead us forward. It does warn us of going backward or taking the wrong path. He was still teaching and giving the saints admonition for their soul’s sake, for a better journey.
“Rejoice in the Lord away: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4: 4-8 (KJV)
That says so much in simply a few words. That is our mission to call ourselves Christians and followers of Christ. This is where we pray for those things which so easily beset us.
When Getting Bogged Down
Sometimes we are bogged down with the cares of life and it hinders our spiritual journey. We get off-track and often let ourselves get to where we are looking for something to be discouraged about.
The enemy of the carnal life talks to our spirit instead of thinking on whatsoever things is lovely, and whatsoever things are of good report. When losing sight of the kingdom one can start to feel inadequate. That is not what our Savior wants for us.
Regardless of how we “think” something or someone has let us down it must not determine our attitude of gratitude to the Almighty God. Nothing should interfere with our spiritual journey and the joy that we seek.
“Not one other person has control over us, we control ourselves through our walk with Christ.”
When we allow someone to hurt us, or we allow someone to discourage us, it is not hurting anyone but us. It is up to us to forgive, forget, regain our composure, and put all things aside that is unbecoming to a Child of God.
Forgiveness Is Always Essential
Forgiveness is one of those things Christ says we must have in order to be forgiven. A post on Forgiveness and The Christian Life.
In Closing-What To Remember About…What Is A Spiritual Journey
Not anyone or anything can take our spirituality from us without us letting them. We give permission to the enemy that wants to destroy our souls. He, the enemy (Satan) wants to take our thoughts and turn them into frivolous inconsistencies.
It is he, “Satan” that we give that power. He desires us to become sidetracked, however, it is up to us to let him know that we will stay on track, not surrender to him, and keep our thoughts going in the right direction. All of this while severing a living Jesus and following His directions through The Word of God.
Thinking exactly as Paul’s admonitions will lead us, help us, and will not enhance our walk with God.
“We’ve got this because we are chosen by the ONE who makes the rules (God, The Father, and Jesus, The Son, and they are one).”
All scripture is taken from the King James Version of the Bible.
