What Does It Mean to Seek God’s Righteousness

What Does It Means to Seek God's Righteousness

What Does It Mean to Seek God’s Righteousness- it means we are in search and need of being more like Him…also: What Does it Mean to Seek God here

When a person becomes new to God’s love and salvation one must work to grow in the righteousness of God. It is when you realize that you cannot remain in your past sinful state of being and live as you once did. The carnal behavior must subside and the new creature must conform to that of having found the grace and spirit of the Lord who made you.

Paul’s writing in the New Testament indicates: Living in God’s Righteousness means living a life that is pleasing to God. You are a new creature in Christ.

What is Righteousness:

Dictionary:  morally right, or justifiable. In other words- goodness, virtue, uprightness, decency, and integrity.

Biblical Version:  this refers to God’s righteousness in living a life that He will be pleased with, according to the scriptures where He leads us on a Christian’s journey. Faith and believing that He has all power to keep us from those things which can destroy our hope in Him.

Examples of What Changes Are Made When You Seek God’s Righteousness

You begin to bloom when you change

The Old Man: *

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things  are passed away: behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthains 5:17

Changes that are carnal in nature:  Our carnal side is often the emotions that bring us down into pity, blame, unhealthy thoughts, fear, desperation, sometimes cursing with anger, the lust of the flesh, and much more. When a soul has repented and asked for mercy from the Lord, He is filled with God’s spirit, and his thinking changes.

Carnal Nature:  carnal, fleshly, sensual, animal means having a relation to the body. carnal may mean only this but more often connotes derogatorily an action or manifestation of a person’s lower nature. Re: Merrian Webster

The New Man In Christ **see below

When our spirit changes, our thoughts, behaviors, actions, temperament, “everything,” changes because we seek God’s Righteousness.

Ezekiel 36:26- “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.”

1 John 4:15-16 “Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.”

1 John 3:24 – “And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.”

Learning to Be More Like The Righteousness of God

To become more righteous is first believing and then we seek to learn more, be more, and live a different kind of life.  When you confess your sins, whatever they are or have been, those things are left behind and you must follow God’s plan for living a better life.

Being a new Christian or a seasoned one, it is essential to grow in knowledge and walk within the light of all things that are related to righteousness in the sight of God.

To grow in the knowledge and walk in the light comes through prayer and the study of God’s Words must be continuous. We cannot pray and study just when we need a special blessing or an action from the Lord. Growing in the righteousness of God is not always a fast concept. It takes prayer along with studying the scriptures and the interpretation of them.

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. “2 Corinthians 5: 21 (KJV)

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33

“For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.  Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” Romans 4: 3-5

What Does This Scripture Mean? Fruit of the Spirit-

Fruit of the Spirit

“Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. ” John 15: 1-2 Reference to the above

**The New Man

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,” Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Galatians 5: 22-25

The Works of The Flesh That Must be Left Behind are: *in reference to the statements above *The Old Man

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” Galatians 5: 19-21

EndNote: So that you know, I am not anyone who is more or less than any other human who has received the grace and mercy of God. I was once a sinner, now I am saved by grace through the blood that Jesus shed on the cross of Calvary.

Yes, I have known that God is real and have been around Christianity all of my life. My parents were Christians. However, I strayed from the Grace of God, and I reaped the consequences of my sins.

I write because something inside of me leads me to express my knowledge of knowing from experience that the Righteousness of God and His Son, Jesus is the cure for all things in life. He will lift you up when you are down, He will have mercy when no other human will. He sees and knows your heart and your soul. He loves you and will forever make you whole. “The very hairs of your head, are numbered.” Matthew 10: 30 (KJV)
