Daily Devotional-Don’t Give Up

Life can get tough and we often want to scream it away. The screaming will not make the bad go away. At this time we need calm, reflection, prayer, and concentration on the Lord’s promises. You are not alone, I am not alone, our life is to be lived with the confidence that God is on our side.

This does not mean that everything will work out the way we desire. However, it means that things will work out for the best as God, The Father, and Jesus The Son, know what is best for us.

When we accept that the Lord knows best, it is easier to keep moving in life. Why? Because we know that no matter what happens in life or how unfair it may seem, the Lord will not forsake us.  When we pray the Lord’s prayer which He, himself has told us to pray we will be okay. “Lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil,” we are praying His will be done.

I don’t know what you may be struggling with today, but, I know that God is our refuge and strength. A present help in need, and He can see what we cannot see.

Just a reminder of the Scriptures to give you strength to keep going:

God is speaking through Isaiah to comfort and encourage His afflicted people and let them know, that their bondage was over, that He is their God, their deliver and Savior.

“Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.” Isaiah 40:28

29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.  30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:  31  But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

(A Song of Degrees.) They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed but abideth forever. 2 As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even forever. 3 For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity. 4 Do good, O LORD, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.  Psalms 125:1-4

Don’t Give Up!

Prayer:

Lord, let your peace rest upon the afflictions of those who are seeking you for help. Let your wisdom flow to them so they understand that you are their keeper, their Savior, their deliverer, and know what is best, not just some of the time but every time. Amen
