New Year With More Gratitude- Brings More Blessings

A lot is happening in the world today that we need to reflect on and realize we have a lot to be grateful for. Most of us Americans have many blessings that some other Nations do not have. Some of us have more than others who live down the street. Yes, our wants sometimes outnumber our needs, not that we mean for that to happen. However, this is a reminder.

It is always important to cultivate gratitude, even when we are in need, as this will be profitable for our faith.

“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” Thessalonians 5: 18

Simple Daily Actions For More Gratitude

Daily Actions, such as writing down three things you’re thankful for or savoring a quiet moment, can build a positive mindset for the year ahead, shifting focus from resolutions to appreciation.
Counting Your Blessings and Be Thankful To God-

Even when you need something more. He knows your needs, and with your gratitude and faith, you will receive those needs.

The gifts of daily life are from the Lord. When we look at what we have, we must remember this verse of scripture:

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17
When we have needs, we must remember the following:
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” Philippians 4: 6

Gratitude Practices for the New Year

  • Take the time each day to go to God the Father and Christ Jesus and offer up your gratitude prayer. One more day, one more minute, the safety of family, a good work day, and so much more.
  • Start a Gratitude Journal: Dedicate a few minutes daily to write down positive moments, simple joys (like coffee or sunshine), or challenges overcome.
  • Express Thanks Actively: Go beyond a quick “thank you” by writing notes or visiting people to share how they’ve impacted you, strengthening bonds.
  • Create Daily Rituals: Tie gratitude to existing habits, like saying thanks before meals or reflecting on the day during a walk.
  • Mindful Appreciation: Take moments to savor everyday experiences, like a warm cup of tea or a sunset, grounding yourself in the present.
  • Reflect & Review: Periodically look back at your journal entries to see how much you’ve experienced and appreciate.
  • Family/Group Pact: Make a New Year’s Eve tradition of sharing things you’re grateful for from the past year. This will be so good for teaching your children about gratitude.

Something More to Be Grateful For

  • Daily Gifts: Health, food, shelter, clean water, loved ones, nature.
  • Overcome Challenges: Struggles that built strength and resilience.
  • Small Joys: A favorite song, a good book, a kind conversation, a sunrise.
  • People: Friends, family, mentors, or even strangers who offered support.
By choosing gratitude, you shift your perspective from what’s missing to the richness of your current life, fostering greater contentment and well-being throughout the new year.
