Daily Devotional-Becoming As Little Children…when we kneel before God, we must let go of our pride, and arrogance and become humble in the sight of the Lord-

Father and Child Kneeling prayer

Humans are sometimes filled with pride, self-sufficiency, arrogance, and without sufficient empathy. It is not because they are necessarily bad people. It is just human nature to sometimes feel a little pride, and self-recognition while forgetting that they should be thankful and appreciative for how they have been blessed.

This is where our attitudes toward all humans, regardless of their material standing should be more compassionate. If anyone chooses to serve the Lord wholeheartedly, these faults must be conquered through forgiveness from the Savior of the World.

Jesus loves the sinner, the disabled, the broken, the rich, and the person who sleeps on the park bench because he has no money. He loves the intelligent, those who are mentally ill, and the entire human race. He has no favorites. His time on the cross was for everyone who seeks Him with an earnest plea for forgiveness and wants to live according to His Holy Word.

The Bible Scriptures That Give Directions for Being Humble as Little Children

The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess”

“And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner,” I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased, and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.” Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.”

Luke 14: 11-17 (KJV)

Proverbs 18:12 – Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.

Proverbs 29:23 – A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
