Believing in You Again If You Have Failed God

Failure of any kind is often hard to accept when we look back and wonder, how could we have been so foolish? However, if God can forgive you and accept your frailness, you must forgive yourself. Yes, Christians sometimes fail themselves and God.

You must remember that failure in your walk with God is also known as sin. Sin/failure can take different forms at different times and for different reasons.  It can happen to anyone, and coping with positive solutions is the key to restoring your life in Christ.

Admitting to yourself that you haven’t been perfect, but you want to serve a perfect God. Starting anew is essential. There is nothing wrong with renewal after failure.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1st John 1:9 (KJV)

Failure Presents Worry

We won’t sugarcoat it—failing is not a laughing matter. It cuts to the core of you. It strips you bare and leaves you staring at the ceiling at 3 AM, asking questions like, What’s wrong with me? Why have I been unfaithful to the God who made me? Am I even good at anything anymore? I know that voice too well. The one that whispers, You blew it. Why were you so ignorant?

But that voice? It’s lying to you, and I’m here to tell you: “You are not done, the Lord gives everyone a renewal when we seek Him.” Time to get on your knees and remember that Jesus Christ loves you and wants to give you the renewal that you need and desire.

AND, God Said:  “I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.” Isaiah 43:25 (KJV)

Acknowledging Failure Is Essential

I have failed more than once, and the subjects of the failures were not all the same. Some stemmed from my career decisions, my inability to seek God over that good feeling of being wiser than I really was. Some from my lack of confidence.

Some were just my ignorance about what is most important in life. When we are young, we often forget at times that every decision we make can hinder, disrupt, and cause significant consequences. They can become very humbling.

When I look back at these different phases of my life, I think about how I let myself become so engrossed by those things that were destructive to my peace of mind. Not the kind of failure you laugh off later. The kind that comes to your mind, heart, and makes you question your soul.

Accept, move forward, cry out to God, and remember to check your balance in your Spiritual walk with God all the time.

“Let thine hand help me; for I have chosen thy precepts. 174I have longed for thy salvation, O LORD; and thy law is my delight. 175Let my soul live, and it shall praise thee; and let thy judgments help me. 176I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant, for I do not forget thy commandments. Psalms 119:173-176

Accepting Failure After Loss

  • Accepting the failure and moving forward is the only answer. That’s step one.
  • Let yourself mourn the version of you that allowed the sin of the world (or distraction) to come into your life. Yes, Satan will lie to you and often wants you to believe it was the right choice and decision.
  • Don’t let yourself believe it could have, would have worked out “if.”
  • Put it all behind you and accept it. It is wise to recognize and feel the damage it has inflicted on your life and your salvation.
  • Own the sadness, the shame, or the bitterness.
  • That’s not weakness; it’s cleansing.

Then comes the shift. That moment when you realize, Okay, Christ died for the sinner. Here’s where the climb back begins for renewal after loss.

Any Failure In Life Is a Lesson Learned

You’ve got to look back at the failure not as a verdict, but as a teacher. I know, sounds like something on a coffee mug, but hear me out. Failure has a way of showing you exactly where the cracks are, what you were lacking in your Spiritual Walk, and where you need to change. It exposes what’s real. It’s brutal, but it’s also precise.

Maybe your heart seemed in the right place, but your carnal life was missing something that you had not recognized. Just maybe it was something you should not have done in the first place. However, now you know where to be more careful and recognize the enemy’s pursuit of your walk with God. Now you’ve got more knowledge, and that is power.

Forgiving And Believing In Yourself Again

The hardest part about believing in yourself again isn’t always about fixing; it is about admitting and going to God in prayer.

“Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.” Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 3For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. 4Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.” Psalms 51: 1-4 (KJV)

People may doubt you.  Some won’t say it, but you’ll feel it in their silence. Let them watch. Then, when you rise again, through the grace of God, and you will, and they won’t be able to ignore it.

“When a man’s ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.” Proverbs 16:7 (KJV)

Conclusion

So how do you believe in yourself again when you’ve failed? You forgive the you that failed. “If God in His Mercy can forgive you and welcome you back to your full obedience to Him, forgive yourself.

I’m not here to tell you it’s easy. I’m here to tell you it’s worth it. Because when you claw your way back, belief doesn’t just return—it hardens. It becomes steel. You become someone who’s been through the fire and came out still swinging.

The Lord is merciful and has blessed me through my struggles. I am seeking Him more every day to make sure I am in line with The Word of God.
