Trust In The Lord With All Your Heart

Daily Devotional -Trust In The Lord With All Your Heart – With Scripture is necessary as this is what faith is…

It is easy to trust in someone you can see physically, reach out, and touch them and seek strength. However, these humans lack God’s divine, heavenly, and omnipotent power. If you do not understand this meaning, hopefully, you will when I finish this post.

The concept of putting your trust in God is a central theme in many faiths, particularly Christianity.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”  “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5 -6

What does it mean to trust God?

  • Belief in His reliability and faithfulness: This is believing in God’s character, His goodness, and His promises. You believe He is always working for your good, even when circumstances don’t make sense.
  • Letting go of control: Surrendering your fears, anxieties, and need to control every outcome to God. You trust He knows best and has a plan for your life, even when you can’t see it.
  • Living by His will: Includes following God’s guidance and seeking to align your life with His principles. It involves seeking His direction through prayer and studying His word.

Why can it be challenging to trust in God?

  • Unanswered prayers: We may have prayed for outcomes that didn’t occur, leading to questions about God’s goodness and whether He hears us.
  • Difficult circumstances: Facing hardships, pain, or loss, we might struggle to understand how a loving God can allow such things to happen.
  • Distrust of the unseen: It can be difficult to trust in something we can’t physically see. Doubts and questions can arise,  without tangible evidence of God’s actions.

“Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.” Jeremiah 17:7

You cannot see the future but God does…

There are times when you must trust God’s Divine knowledge of knowing what is best. He knows what lies ahead, and what could endanger your life and your relationship with Him.

He knows the answers (the right answers) to all things. We may think we need or “want” something…that we do not need. He knows the results of all things and what is not good, safe, responsible, or healthy for our lives.

“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Proverbs 14: 12

“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:” 1 John 5: 14

The Lord will guide you when you are seeking His will and He will never fail you.

“And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a water garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.” Isaiah 58:11

How can you develop trust in God?

  • Reflect on His faithfulness: Studying the Bible and reading stories of God’s past actions with His people emphasizes His consistent care and provision.
  • Focus on the present: Paying attention to the small ways God shows up in your daily life can strengthen your trust in His presence.
  • Pray and meditate: Regularly talking to God and meditating on His Word builds a deeper relationship and an understanding of His character.
  • Seek community: Surrounding yourself with those who share your faith allows for mutual support and reminds you that you’re not alone in your spiritual journey.

Benefits of trusting God

Trusting in God’s Care For Your Life

  • Peace amidst uncertainties: Trusting God provides inner peace and resilience even when things don’t go as planned.
  • Reduces anxiety: Casting your worries onto God lessens anxieties and creates space for more peace of mind.
  • Purpose and direction: Believing that God has a plan for your life brings direction, hope, and meaning.
  • Strength during trials: Trusting in God’s constant presence gives you the strength and courage to face life’s challenges.

He will never forsake you or leave you alone…Hebrews 13: 5
