The Glory Road To Heaven

The Glory Road To Heaven
When I was a young girl, my sister and brothers would run barefoot all summer. We would wander up and down dusty hills, curves, and gravel roads.
We would get tired and have sore feet from walking on the rocky road, then we would find a spot of soft dirt that felt so cool on our aching feet. What a treat. There would be times we would wander into the creek with our bare feet.
The rocks would get very rough, the sand smooth, but best of all was the cool water that rested our weary feet.
On The Glory Road to Heaven, Life Is Sometimes Full of Disappointments
You will find the road at times to be rocky. As Christians, we can find comfort in knowing that our heavenly Father is walking this road with us.
He will never leave your side when you put your full trust in Him. When you abide by His words (the Word of God), strive for more understanding, and draw closer to His side, He will draw nigh to you.
“Draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you.” James 4:8
It would be so easy to just give up and take the broad road at times. We might enjoy life a little more at some points, but what would the end be?
It could be joy for a while if all of the detours were made with care. However, trying to live life without any guide, hitting the bumps and knocks along the way, would be more destruction and error.
Our Guide Is Where The Solid Foundation Begins
We have a guide to help us walk the right path on the glory road that leads to life eternal. It is up to us to search and reprove our ways.
In 2Timothy 3:16
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
“The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.” Proverbs 15; 31
The Straight Way To Glory
The straight way may get rough at times, then smooth again, then harder, even dangerous, and at other moments easier. It can be unbearable, pleasant, and joyful all at once.
Never make the mistake of judging your road by how it looks or feels. Your road, and your journey through life, will not be defined by its terrain, but by the place to which it leads you.
13 “Brethen, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do; forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3: 13-14
Always look to the end of your course, to where it is taking you. Try to make sure you haven’t taken any detours that were not prompted by Jesus. However, if you are on the right road, don’t get discouraged by the terrain.
Summary
As Paul said in Philippians 3:14, “I look forward toward the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. The author and finisher of our faith.”
My prayer is that as we walk this narrow road we won’t become complacent and for get the our eyes of the prize that we are striving for.
We are on this glory road together to encourage and pray for each other, keep the faith, brothers and sisters in the Lord, and keep walking in all of the light you see.
“In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”
John 14:2 (KJV)
