What Does Praising God Mean: When Should We Praise Him

Praising God is an act of expressing reverence, gratitude, and honor through actions of singing hymns, prayer, or worship. It involves acknowledging God’s power, holiness, and love, and it serves to bring glory to God, strengthen believers, and provide a new perspective on life’s challenges.

Quote:

“All praise to Him who now hath turned  “My fears to joys, my sighs to song,  my tears smiles, my sad to glad.”

Amen!  ~Anne Bradstreet

Today Is a Good Day to Praise The Lord

Psalm 100
“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.  Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing.
Know ye that the Lord He is God:  it is He that has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise:  be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.
For the Lord is good: His mercies are everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations.”
I have always been one who loves to give God praise in worship.  I see God’s hand in everything around me, and I will sing praises to Him every chance I have.

Every Day Is A Good Day To Praise God

One day, a few years ago, I was carrying my grandson to Jackson, Mississippi, for a heart check-up.  It was early spring, and the trees were budding out and the Dogwoods were in full bloom.

It was a beautiful sight.  I told Pete, “Look how the trees are praising God”. Of course, he said, no, they are not. My response was, “Oh, yes, they are, just look how they are raising their new growth to heaven to praise God.”

We should begin each day with praise and worship.  We can thank Him in song,  we can thank Him in deeds, we can thank Him in prayer.  We can thank Him in everyday conversation with a friend or in a chance encounter with a stranger.  Because every day is good to give praise to God.

When Jesus Was Invited to Meat By The Pharisees’

I’m reminded of the time Jesus was invited by the Pharisees to a dinner; their only intention was to trap Jesus in doing something wrong, but the tables turned on them.

Luke 7:36-39

“And one of the Pharisees desired that he would eat with him.  And he went into the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to meat.

37 And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house, bought an alabaster box of ointment,

38  And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

39  Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spoke within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, should have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.”

This woman, who was once a sinner, had much to praise and worship Jesus for.  Jesus had cast out seven demons from her and forgave her of all her sins.

I can relate to this woman, for God has forgiven me so many times that when I get a chance to sing praises to Him and give Him worship, it just flows from my heart.

I have watched audiences that are supposed to be called by the name of Jesus never move to raise their hands, and I wonder if they really know who Jesus is and what He’s done for us.

Jesus said in Matthew 22:37

Jesus said unto him,

“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”

This verse calls for complete and undivided love for God, engaging every part of a person: their heart, their soul, and their mind.  This is the greatest commandment and forms the foundation for all other laws.  Everything a person does, thinks, and feels stems from this core love and devotion to God,

Thanksgiving Season Is a Time For Giving Jesus More Praise

As we enter this Thanksgiving season, let us all reach deep into our hearts and find the love we once found when we were forgiven of our sins, and be like the woman who washed the feet of Jesus with her tears in love and thanksgiving.

We are so blessed in our country that we can still worship and praise Jesus for all he has done. I would encourage everyone of my brothers and sisters in Christ, when you are in worship service, close your eyes, raise your hands, and give God the praise and glory.

Just learn to make a joyful noise, and you will be blessed, and God will be glorified.  Yes, it is our honor to always give praise to our heavenly Father, today and forever.
