“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10: 9,10

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life.” John 3:36

“But, without faith is it impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:6

Simply and honestly, it is essential that you believe that Christ is the Son of God, was born of a virgin, lived, and ministered on this earth. He then died for our sins. If you are lacking this understanding of how to become a follower of Jesus Christ and receive the redemption of sins, then your faith is lacking.

How Humans Often Think

The human being is often impatient and deceived, even for those who have accepted Christ. If they can’t see it, it is often difficult to believe it.  If it doesn’t produce what is desired, doubt creeps in.

One must grow in faith and understand how it works, why it works as it does, and how it becomes the most essential part of the Christian life.  Faith is not to give anyone just what they want, it is to believe that one will have what is needed.

Faith can save and heal the sick, faith can heal a broken heart, and faith can give hope when there is none. Most importantly, salvation comes through faith.   Faith must be a constant companion for all those who trust in Him.

Explanation of Faith From The Word of God:

Faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things unseen.”  Hebrews 11: 1

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”  Hebrews 11: 3  v6:

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10: 17

“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.  But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?”  James 2: 20

Living and Walking By Faith

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”  2 Cor 5: 7

“The just shall live by faith.”  Ga. 3: 11

“In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith in him.”  Ephesians 3: 12

“Let you conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”  Hebrews 13: 5.

The Difference in Faith and Belief

Faith and belief are similar, however, they are not the same thing.

Belief or believing means that a person believes something to be true, and can also refer to accepting something is true or someone is true. Often considered a temporary concept. People can believe that someone, something, or someplace exists. However, this belief does not in any way affect the way they live their life differently. This is not true faith.

Dictionary.com- To have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something, although without absolute proof that one is right in doing. 2. To have confidence in the assertions of a person.

Faith is different, when you accept Jesus Christ you accept the Word of God by faith, His commandments, and you change the way you lived your life up until then. Faith is usually considered a spiritual concept.

It is a concept of believing in something or someone, even if there is no proof. That is Biblical faith. This is what the scripture in Hebrews 11:1 means.

Dictionary.com-  Faith: Confidence or trust in a person or thing. 2. A belief that is not based on proof.

Martin Luther King, Jr. said this:

FAITH is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.

It is easy for those who have walked awhile as a Christian to have more faith and understanding. For those who have not, it seems just as easy for them to put aside or question faith.

It is quite frustrating sometimes when Christians desire to share their faith and knowledge with others, and those who are listening do not want to receive it. Faith gives added hope to any life.

Faith does not come easy when everything around is going ballistic. It could be easy to wonder where God is.  Is He listening to the heartfelt plea?

Answers to prayers are needed, and deliverance from some unpleasant situation is staring one in the face. This is when one must know that having faith does not always come in the time frame of the person with the need. It is all about God’s timing.

A full understanding of faith is to trust God’s plan, His timing, and His answers.  His answers are not always the answers wanted or needed, this is when true faith must shine through.

When the timing seems off, He is possibly teaching patience and wisdom. You cannot have faith and not believe at the same time. Faith must still be present when it looks like one is lost at sea. One must know without a doubt that Faith Is The Way To God.

Sometimes when a person has become slack in service to the Lord and is not “Faithful” in following His purpose, they cannot expect His answers to be on their terms. However, very often, the Lord is merciful, kind, and gracious, because his love is greater than any other love. The Lord will allow his people to learn from their mistakes. The prayer of a righteous man, availeth much.

God Always Knows What Is Best

God knows what is good for us and what isn’t, therefore faith does not always work to our advantage because we think we deserve it. How could we deserve a man dying on the cross of Calvary so that we might have a life?
We do not, but He died for us so that we might be saved. That life does not mean that we must have what we want, but He has promised we will have what we need when we live that life for Him.

That is not the kind of faith the Bible is talking about.  Yet again, I have seen what happens when we are determined to do something without God’s approval. We got what we asked for, and it was a bit more than we expected, and all of it was not for total good. It is always in our favor to pray that “thy will be done.”.

Faith is The Way To God

  • The faith we need to be saved and please God.
  • It is by faith we need to see our needs, not desires met.
  • Faith is what we must have to keep on living when we have faced a tragedy or life-altering event.
  • Having faith is not what we see, it is the result of what we do not see but believe.
  • Faith is what we must have to know that nothing lasts forever, except God’s gracious love, and mercy.
  • When we have faith in knowing that Jesus never stops loving us.

Faith will carry us to the next phase of our lives when we don’t know which turn to make.  He knows, and if we trust His knowing, our conflicts in life will be far less.

Final Thoughts Worth Believing:

When you have come to the edge of all light that you know and are about to drop off into the darkness of the unknown.  Faith is knowing, one of two things will happen:  There will be something solid to stand on or you will be taught to fly.”    Patrick Overton

“Faith isn’t faith until it’s all you’re holding on to.” unknown

God’s love is real! Have faith-But remember that Faith Without Works Is Dead!
