When We Need to Kneel For God’s Mercy Again –sometimes it is every day…
“Change your thoughts, change your life,” is one true cliché.”
We are often blindsided and think it is someone else’s behavior and not ours that needs to be changed. Yes, I am talking about Christian humans, like you and me. We often forget to look within. I can admit that I have failed the Lord many times in this respect.
We must be honest, and realize we are not perfect ‘yet.’ In fact, I am always asking the Lord to forgive if I have said or done anything that was not like Him, and if HIS SPIRIT IS IN ME, WHY DO I DO IT?
We Must Seek To Know More About Our Human Side
I am trying to get a revelation or understand more about the human side of our Christianity, our Salvation.
This scripture in the Old Testament gives us something to acknowledge that we are still “dust,” “human.”
“For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.” Psalms 103:4
David found grace with the Lord. He would confess his sins often, and ask God for mercy.
“Cast me not away from thy presence, and take not thy holy spirit from me.” Psalms 51:11
This is the Holy Spirit that comes to us when: we have confessed our sins and become a Child of God.
Once Saved Always Saved
Some people believe that if you are really saved, you will not have to ask for forgiveness anymore. It is done! You are saved and that is it!
If you agree with that, I have some moving up to do. Here is why:
As we know, God repented that He made man. What does that tell us? We tug at the human within us every day. It is a fact, and it is something that no one is exempt from.
Part of the trouble is the enemy (Lucifer) that wants to devour our salvation. He works in many shapes, forms, and fashions. The other part is the self which gives way to our desires, thoughts, and frustrations, and seemingly forgets that the Spirit of God is within us.
That Spirit does not act as we sometimes do. So again; why do we do it? So what allows us to need to repent more often? Some in particular –
- When we decide to judge, make remarks about someone, or have thoughts that no one knows except the Lord, and us, or roll our eyes and discredit someone.
- We fail our attendance in God’s House. (This is me, as I previously admitted in another article.)
- When we do not attend church to receive a blessing but to be seen.
- Are we finding fault with the Minister of the Word?
- When we have not prayed the righteous prayer to worship in spirit and in truth.
- If we fail to be faithful.
- When we believe everything “someone,” says, and do not take things to God in prayer.
- We look at someone with a “Are you real” look.
- When we do not try to see Christ in everyone.
- If and when we do not try to understand or look at the heart of others.
What “I” need to know about this: please note I have used the word “I.”
Everyone has a load on their shoulders of some kind to bear. We are all human, and regardless of how hard we try, the human within often speaks, thinks, and acts without thinking of the results. Most people will not, and cannot tell you their true soul feelings. What they have experienced, the pain they have been born with, or what they have learned in life lessons.
No one knows the ups, downs, and turmoil within another person. There is no one that can tell how many times a person has cried, prayed, and sought after the Lord. Often when it seemed they had no one else to talk to. No one knows the loneliness, the feeling of being isolated.
I am sure I have done all of the above at some point in time. That is our step in getting redemption and living more like Him when we admit our weaknesses. This is so that we will attend worship and feel the presence of God.
He Sends His Mercy to All –what does it mean that God is Merciful?
“The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.” Psalms 103:8
“But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if ANY man has not the Spirit of Christ, HE IS NONE OF HIS.” Romans 8: 9
“Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.” 1Â John 4:15Â
“But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst, but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:14
Where Is The Well Of Water Within Us?
Where is that well of water springing up within us? Do we have this fullness of Christ within us so that we rejoice with every man or woman (brother or sister in Christ) in their triumphs and prosperity? Also in their awkwardness, their disappointments, their need for support, and their need for prayer.
What If’s
They do not like to be around some people. Some people are hard to know and are always negative. I have seen actions that proved that some people are slow to promote others.
Wow… What would Jesus do? Now that we have confirmed that we are saved, and have repented of our sins; God’s Spirit dwells within us.
What if Jesus decided He did not want to come to our rescue because of our actions, thoughts, and processes? How would we feel if He did not want to be in our presence when we needed Him the most? What if?
Here Are The Facts of the Matter
Jesus loves every living soul, and he has no favorite person, nor does he prefer one over the other. He looks at the heart, the unknown, and He only judges from the facts. However, He does judge us and admonish us when we go against The Word.
“Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.” V 16: “And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.” John 8:15-16
Very often we “think” we know enough about things in life, and place our judgmental opinions. We listen to other people who “think” they know the facts. Really, only God knows all things and the facts.
Why and where do we get permission to look at how life is flowing for others, and put our analysis forward? Speaking it or thinking it, in the mind.
The Lord’s house must be full of oneness. Loving one another in spirit and in truth. Worshiping in truth and kindness.
“If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Galatians 5: 25
Please note: When I write something, I am not trying to pinpoint anyone or see their faults when I cannot see my own. I am rather honest with myself, and I often have to ask the Lord to forgive my thoughts and opinions.
Also note that I do not want to lack the ability to see myself as I am, which is a disaster without Christ. Our minds play a part in our sins, the ultimate deceiver gets into our minds and goes haywire. Think about it.Â
